The Outer Reaches Collection

Having moved up to my home county at a young age, I’ve got to know the Outer Reaches well. Finding a sense of love, welcome and belonging whilst also always being from the outside is a strange but kind of beautiful experience. Physically, my home county borders Scotland, and my new little home in Scotland, is as far out as you can get, bordering the sea.

Having been diagnosed with AF a few months ago, I also know the feeling of being pulled away from the present to a more distant place. But again, although it’s challenging, it’s helping me to understand me and my body in more depth than I ever have before.

The Outer Reaches is a place I visit often, and have such deep connections with, it just seemed so fitting to use it as the title my first show. It celebrates my first year of painting with intention, and the challenges and rewards these experiences have given me, and in turn, lead me to where I am now.
And I am so grateful.
